Open Streets West Broadway

11am - 4:30pm

Sat Sep 10, 2022

More than a street festival, Open Streets Minneapolis brings together communities, temporarily closing West Broadway to car traffic between Penn Ave N and Lyndale Ave. N. The street will be completely open for people to explore their communities in a uniquely connected way.

Led by conductor Sarah Hicks, the Minnesota Orchestra will perform a one-hour concert starting at noon, featuring music by Claude Debussy and John Williams, a Duke Ellington medley and more. The Orchestra will be joined for portions of the concert by collaborative performers from Heart and Soul Drum Academy and Hopeful Music to perform a new work by composer Reinaldo Moya written especially for this performance.
