Sun salutations meet live music in our Yoga Class at Orchestra Hall series! Join a local instructor to practice yoga in the serenity of the Orchestra Hall lobby while an individual musician or duo from the Minnesota Orchestra plays musical selections that inspire and center body and soul.
Things To Know
- This class is open to all ages 15 and up. Please bring your own mat and water bottle, as well as any props (towels, blocks, etc.) you would like to use for the class.
- Information about the instructor, musician and playlist will be posted on this page in the weeks prior to the class.
Jaina Portwood, who has taught yoga since 2002, is the founder and director of Beloved Retreats, where she offers International Yoga Retreats and Teacher Trainings for seekers looking to expand their practice and see the world. In the last few years, she has taken groups to 18 different countries across the globe, including an annual spiritual pilgrimage to northern India, the birthplace of yoga.
Te-Chiang (Bacco) Liu has been a soloist with various orchestras in Taiwan, Australia and United States, and he has also been invited to perform internationally in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, and U.S. He has served as concertmaster of the National Defense Symphony Orchestra, where he performed several state banquets for the President of Taiwan, and he currently performs as regular extra musician with the Minnesota Orchestra, and the Concertmaster with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra.
