Disney's Hocus Pocus in Concert
with the Minnesota OrchestraFri Oct 25 — Sat Oct 26, 2024
Orchestra Hall
Accidentally brought back to life in Salem on Halloween night, three witches, known as the Sanderson sisters, attempt to steal the life essence from the town’s children so they can have eternal life. They are outwitted by a boy named Max Dennison, his young sister Dani and his girlfriend Allison, and aided by a boy, Thackery Binx, who had been changed into a cat for trying to interfere with the witches centuries earlier. Dust off your broom—or vacuum!—and zoom on down to Orchestra Hall for a night of magic and music.
A Few Things to Know
- A WHAT time story?! Writer David Kirschner created the original premise of Hocus Pocus as a bedtime story for his two young daughters.
- After taking in a modest box office profit (perhaps due to its release in July 1993 instead of October to make room for the planned release of The Nightmare Before Christmas later that same year) the now-31-year-old film has since gained immense popularity and is considered one of the most beloved Halloween movies of all time.
- LET IT ALL OUT: When you watch a film live at Orchestra Hall, you can cheer for your favorite moments (and boo your least favorite characters) as you and the audience enjoy this truly unique and collective experience together.
