In his first season as music director, Thomas Søndergård is curating a one-hour concert of music he wants to share with our youngest listeners. Create memories for the whole family at Orchestra Hall with this engaging concert featuring music from The Nutcracker and other favorites from the season along with fun and educational pre-concert activities in the lobby. 
 
Our Relaxed Family Concerts are designed for audiences of all ages, including individuals with autism or sensory sensitivities. Each concert takes place in an inclusive environment where audience members are welcome to be who they are and enjoy music together with family and friends.

A Few Things to Know

  1. Classics with Thomas Søndergård will feature a variety of music—some soft and some loud—because we know that different audience members like different levels of sound. PRE/POST-CONCERT ACTIVITES

Come early to participate in lobby activities, including opportunities to try out orchestral instruments, create your own conducting baton, learn how different sized objects and materials affect the sounds you can create with the Science Museum, engage in creative movement, meet Minnesota Orchestra musicians, and more.
