Join the Minnesota Orchestra, conductor Caleb Young, pianist Jon Kimura Parker and In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre for an exploration of the natural world through symphonic music inspired by birds, weather and water. This Relaxed Family Concert is for audiences of all ages and abilities, including individuals with autism or sensory sensitivities. Come enjoy music with family and friends in a relaxed environment where everyone is welcome to be who they are!

PRE/POST-CONCERT ACTIVITIES

Come early to participate in lobby activities, including opportunities to try orchestral instruments, make puppets, learn about animals, engage in creative movement, meet Minnesota Orchestra musicians and more.

A Few Things to Know

  1. This concert is eligible for Hall Pass—free tickets are available for kids ages 6-18. Choose your seat and the Hall Pass price type ($0) when ordering. 
  2. Wings, Wind and Waves will feature a variety of music—some soft and some loud—because we know that different audience members like different levels of sound. Review our tip sheet (coming soon) to read about quiet spaces, noise-canceling headphones and other options which are available for tailoring the concert experience to fit your family's preferences.
  3. Come early to participate in lobby activities, including opportunities to try instruments, engage in creative movement, make art, learn more about the program and meet Minnesota Orchestra musicians.

In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre uses water, flour, newspaper, paint, and unlimited imagination to tell stories that explore the struggles and celebrations of human existence. Come see themed displays of puppets created by HOBT artists; from large dragon masks to a collection of winged creatures!
