Artists
The Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra, founded in 1903 and led since its centennial by Music Director Osmo Vänskä, is recognized for distinguished performances around the world, award-winning recordings, radio broadcasts, educational engagement programs, and commitment to building the orchestral repertoire of the future. The Orchestra tours regularly throughout Minnesota and nationally, and has toured abroad in Australia, Canada, East Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and South Africa. Recording has been an important part of the organization’s mission since the 1920s. During Vänskä’s tenure, the Orchestra has undertaken acclaimed recordings, including complete cycles of symphonies by Ludwig van Beethoven, Jean Sibelius and—now underway—Mahler.

French horn player Tim Bradley grew up in Kansas and began playing the piano at age 4. When he was 10 years old, he wanted to join the school band. His band director gave him a French horn to try, and to everyone’s excitement, Tim found that he could make a sound on it! But it wasn’t a very good sound yet. And so Tim stuck with it and through lots of practice, training, and hard work, he is now a professional horn player!
Tim is Artistic Director and performer with Copper Street Brass, a full-time group made up of 5 brass players and 1 percussionist based in Minneapolis. He also frequently performs with Minnesota Orchestra and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and is a member of the Minnesota Opera orchestra.
For this event, Tim will be showcasing the French horn in all its glory: performing music of many different styles, demonstrating how the horn works, showing how sound is made on the instrument, and even having some interactive elements too.
Tim lives in Minneapolis with his wife and his 100-pound dog Bernard. He also plays guitar and is lead guitar player with a few rock bands in the Twin Cities, and in his spare time he runs a business building electric guitars!
