Sounds of the Harvest
Grades 3-6Tue Nov 28 — Wed Nov 29, 2023
Orchestra Hall
Join the Minnesota Orchestra as they celebrate the season of Harvest, which encompasses vibrant traditions and festivals around the world. Harvest is the period or process of gathering in crops at the end of the growing season; many Harvest traditions center around two common themes: the bounty of harvest and gratitude. Through pieces including James Lee III’s ethereal Sukkot Through Orion’s Nebula and Jerod Impichchaachaaha Tate’s powerful Shakomaxon, we will explore different Harvest traditions held near and far. To celebrate the autumn season, we will also hear Astor Piazzolla’s vibrant Otoño Porteño for solo violin and string orchestra.
