Musician's Favorite Passage: Anthony Ross Plays Tales of Hemingway
This Friday and Saturday, Minnesota Orchestra Principal Cello Anthony Ross steps into the spotlight for the ensemble's first performance of Tales of Hemingway, a cello concerto by contemporary composer Michael Daugherty. The piece's four movements explore four iconic Hemingway Stories: the short story Big Two-Hearted River, the novella The Old Man and the Sea, and the novels For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Sun Also Rises. Ross breaks down the piece by performing his favorite passages—don't miss it when it all comes together under the baton of Fabien Gabel this weekend, September 30 and October 1.
