Let's Play a Duet: Trumpet

Charles Lazarus playing silver trumpet

Minnesota Orchestra trumpet player Charles Lazarus invites you to play a virtual duet with him.

He will guide you through a performance of a Telemann Canonic Sonata. You can play along by downloading the sheet music here and following the instructions below. This duet is appropriate for high school and college-level players.

Instructions: One player starts then the second player begins when the first player reaches the sign in the second measure. The first player plays until the end of the piece and the second player ends where the fermata is printed. Jump to 2:23 to hear Charles play both parts of the duet together.
