Bring a Blanket for Simpson Housing Services
This December, the Minnesota Orchestra is inviting audiences to bring new blankets to Orchestra Hall as donations to support Simpson Housing Services, a local nonprofit organization that helps thousands of people experiencing homelessness find the housing, support and shelter they need in a time of personal crisis. For several years, Simpson has hosted performances by Minnesota Orchestra musicians at its emergency shelter, and has invited Minnesota Orchestra musicians to perform as part of its annual Memorial Service remembering people who have died while homeless. The Orchestra is proud to partner with Simpson again this holiday season.
Simpson’s Director of Volunteer Engagement, Christina Giese, has a special message for those who would like to contribute to this collection. You can support our efforts by watching the video for more information and then bringing new twin, full, and queen size blankets to Orchestra Hall before any concerts you attend through January 1, 2022. Blankets can be dropped off in the box in front of the holiday tree near the Peavey Plaza entrance.
Thank you for helping the Minnesota Orchestra support Simpson Housing Services this holiday season!
