Cymbals, sometimes called crash cymbals, are round, thin pieces of metal typically used in pairs. You hold one in each hand and strike them together. You may think that cymbals can only make one type of sound—a crash!—but, in fact, they can produce many different colors of sound from soft “sizzles” to loud, short crashes and all the sounds in between.
