What makes an orchestra? Come on an orchestral adventure with a special Sprite who will teach students about each of the instrument families that make up an orchestra. Featuring a Grammy-award winning soundtrack played by the Minnesota Orchestra, Philharmonia Fantastique: The Making of the Orchestra is a 25-minute multi-media concerto that explores the connections between music, sound, performance, creativity and technology.
This concert curriculum will focus on getting to know the instrument families of the symphony orchestra and explore how they all come together to make one big, beautiful sound.
Artists
The Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra, now in its second century, ranks among America’s top symphonic ensembles, with a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in its home state and around the world; award-winning recordings, broadcasts and educational engagement programs; and a commitment to commissioning and performing the music of our time. In September 2025, Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård began his third season as music director.
