The Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra, now in its second century, ranks among America’s top symphonic ensembles, with a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in its home state and around the world; award-winning recordings, broadcasts and educational engagement programs; and a commitment to commissioning and performing the music of our time. In September 2025, Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård began his third season as music director.
Jonathan Taylor Rush brings passion, unique interpretation and a refreshing energy to the orchestral experience. Rooted in his musical upbringing within the church, Rush’s approach to conducting is imbued with elements of gospel and soul music. He debuted with the Minnesota Orchestra in May 2023, leading world premiere performances of brea(d)th by Carlos Simon and Marc Bamuthi Joseph—a recording of which has been released on Decca Classics.
Christina Baldwin is a director, writer, adapter, producer, performer and frequent collaborator with the Minnesota Orchestra as a soloist, actor and recording artist. An advocate of new work, she develops new plays, musical theater and opera with the likes of the Ojai Playwrights Conference, The Playwrights’ Center, Nautilus Music-Theater and The Moving Company.
Los Alegres Bailadores is a Mexican folkloric dance ensemble based on the West Side of Saint Paul. Under the artistic direction of Rebecca Moran Cusick, this company of nearly 100 dancers—ages 3 to adult—celebrates Mexico’s rich traditions through vibrant costumes, intricate choreography and authentic musical arrangements.
Maria Dively has been an American Sign Language interpreter for eight years in Minnesota and California. A NIC/Trilingual Interpreter, she is a graduate of North Central University in Minneapolis. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico and has been involved personally and professionally in the Deaf community since college. From a young age, she has been involved with music as a woodwind player, percussionist and steel drums player, among other roles.
