Pirouette into summer with this program featuring music inspired by dance, including pieces by Dvořák, Ginastera and many more. Composers are often inspired by dance and movement, from the percussive sound of tap shoes to elegant ballet combinations. This program will have you leaping out of your seats and onto the dance floor!

The Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra, now in its second century, ranks among America’s top symphonic ensembles, with a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in its home state and around the world; award-winning recordings, broadcasts and educational engagement programs; and a commitment to intentionally build concert programs to feature more works by composers of color, exploring music both contemporary and historic. In September 2024, Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård began his second season as music director.
Samuel Lee is the associate conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the winner of the prestigious Malko Competition for Young Conductors 2024 in Copenhagen. As a result of his success at the Malko Competition, Lee will have conducting contracts with 24 leading international symphony orchestras and a three-year period with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra’s chief conductor Fabio Luisi as a personal mentor.
