The immortal hymn, Amazing Grace!, was penned by John Newton after surviving a life-threatening storm at sea. This concert recounts Newton's extraordinary and compelling story from slave ship captain to crusader for the abolishment of slavery. The Minnesota premiere of Amazing Grace! (from Blind to Free) by composer Lloyd Larson marks the 2025 World Premiere of this musical presentation at Carnegie Hall in New York City (July) as well as the 300th anniversary of John Newton's birth.

The first half of the two-hour concert features glorious hymns and inspiring orchestrations, presented by the Twin Cities Praise Symphony under the direction of Dr. Bruce Pearson, world-renowned music educator, author, and composer.

The second half of the concert features the 45-minute work, Amazing Grace! (from Blind to Free), performed by the 200+ voice Twin Cities Festival Chorus under the direction of the composer, with orchestral accompaniment by the Twin Cities Praise Symphony and internationally acclaimed pianist, Dr. Diane Earle. Featured soloist is tenor Layke Jones, and dramatic narration is presented by Mark Cabaniss. Don't miss this "amazing" collaborative concert event that will touch your heart and uplift your spirit!
