Established by the White House in 1988 and supported by 40 national, Latino-serving institutions, the Hispanic Heritage Awards (HHAs) are often recognized as America’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. The event also marks the launch of HHF’s year-round mission focused on education, workforce development, societal impact, and leadership.

In its 39 year history, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) will, for the first time, bring the historic Hispanic Heritage Awards outside Washington, DC, hosting the 2026 ceremony at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.

In addition to honoring the People of Minnesota with the Humanitarian Award, the event will also recognize honorees whose excellence, cultural pride and visionary leadership continue to elevate and empower communities nationwide.

The HHAs are broadcast nationally on PBS and are considered among the highest honors for Latinos by Latinos.
