Orchestra Hall
Late ’90s alt-rock favorites Guster take the stage with the Minnesota Orchestra for a career-spanning set that blends beloved hits with new music. For more than three decades, the band has crafted smart, quirky pop-rock songs like “Amsterdam,” “Satellite,” and “Overexcited,” earning their place as indie-rock mainstays and inspiring a fiercely loyal fan base. With introspective lyrics, bright melodies, and irresistible hooks reimagined for full symphony orchestra, these concerts promise a sound—and an experience—you won’t forget.
Artists
The Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra, now in its second century, ranks among America’s top symphonic ensembles, with a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in its home state and around the world; award-winning recordings, broadcasts and educational engagement programs; and a commitment to commissioning and performing the music of our time. In September 2025, Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård began his third season as music director.
Sarah Hicks is the Minnesota Orchestra’s principal conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall, a role in which she oversees planning for and conducts many concerts in the broad-spectrum series of popular music, jazz, Broadway classics, movie scores and other genres. She also conducted the Inside the Classics and Sam & Sarah series for ten seasons.
Guster celebrated three decades together as a band—a journey that’s included landing a series of hits on the Billboard charts, working with luminaries like Steve Lillywhite and Richard Swift, launching their own music festival, and amassing an ardent fanbase on the strength of their relentless touring and deeply communal live show. Their ninth studio album, Ooh La La, reveals a band fully in touch with the voracious creative energy that first inspired their formation—matching that wide-eyed spirit with a newly heightened sense of confidence, conviction, and commitment to the raw sincerity that’s made them so beloved.
