For our Season Opening celebrations, the creativity of video artist Tal Rosner adds thrilling dimension to Stravinsky’s luminous score. Van Cliburn Competition gold medalist Vadym Kholodenko’s technical brilliance will dazzle in Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2.

In September 2025, Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård began his third season as music director.
Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård, who in September 2025 began his third season as music director of the Minnesota Orchestra, is a highly regarded conductor in both the orchestral and opera spheres. He has earned a reputation for incisive interpretations of works by composers from his native Denmark, a great versatility in a broad range of standard and modern repertoire, and a collaborative approach with the musicians he leads.
Combining fierce pianism, an unrivaled breadth of repertoire and a level of interpretative refinement that ascends to the realms of poetry, Vadym Kholodenko rises as an artist the likes of which the world has rarely seen since the great pianists of the Golden Age.
Gold Medalist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Kholodenko's distinguished pianism and profound artistic gifts have led to invitations from many of the world's finest orchestras and concert halls.
Tal Rosner is a BAFTA-winning video artist known for crafting striking visual worlds for concerts, theaters, museums and events worldwide. His work has been seen with major orchestras and bands, theater and dance companies, and fashion brands and curators. Most recently, he collaborated with composer David Lang and Bang on a Can All-Stars on before and after nature, with director Tom Morris on a semi-staged performance of Mahler's Eighth Symphony at the Southbank Centre, and with San Francisco Opera to create their inaugural Pride concert.
