In a span of less than one year, Daniil Trifonov medaled at three of the world’s most prestigious competitions. His final stop was Moscow, where he took home First Prize and the Grand Prix at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. He was 20. Setting the bar that high can be a burden, but Trifonov maintains that when he’s on stage he always finds something new to share with audiences. 16 years later, you’ll witness that in his performance of Brahms’ monumental First Piano Concerto.

He has earned a reputation for incisive interpretations of works by composers from his native Denmark, a great versatility in a broad range of standard and modern repertoire, and a collaborative approach with the musicians he leads.
Grammy Award-winning pianist Daniil Trifonov is a solo artist, champion of the concerto repertoire, chamber and vocal collaborator and composer. Combining consummate technique with rare sensitivity and depth, his performances are a perpetual source of wonder to audiences and critics alike. He won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Solo Album of 2018 with Transcendental, the Liszt collection that marked his third title as an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist.
