The first few minutes of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 hold so much promise, you may wonder how he could possibly sustain that level of intensity! Beethoven does exactly that with an exquisitely structured symphony of dances. Plus, you’ll hear violinist Veronika Eberle perform Hartmann’s Concerto funebre, an emotional work that embodies resistance, remembrance and resilience.

The Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra, now in its second century, ranks among America’s top symphonic ensembles, with a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in its home state and around the world; award-winning recordings, broadcasts and educational engagement programs; and a commitment to commissioning and performing the music of our time. In September 2025, Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård began his third season as music director.
Principal guest conductor of the BBC Philharmonic since September 2024, Anja Bihlmaier has become a firm favorite at the BBC Proms, where she appears annually. In 2025-26, she conducts for the first time the London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Zurich Opera Orchestra (at the Tonhalle) and Orchestre National de Lyon, returning to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Madrid National, Helsinki Philharmonic, Berlin Konzerthausorchester, Hong Kong Philharmonic, and Sydney and Melbourne symphonies. She continues her residency at the Bonn Beethovenfest conducting the DSO Berlin, with whom she will also open the Berlin Musikfest.
Veronika Eberle's exceptional talent and the poise and maturity of her musicianship have been recognized by many of the world's finest orchestras, venues and festivals, as well as by some of the most eminent conductors. In the 2025-26 season, she makes her Carnegie Hall debut in a tour of Europe and the U.S. with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Other notable debuts include Konzerthausorchester Berlin (Søndergård), Helsinki Philharmonic (Bihlmaier), Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony (Storgårds), Hyogo PAC Orchestra (Ottensamer) and Royal Scottish National Orchestra (Widmann). She also makes returns to Dresdner Philharmonie (Albrecht), BBC National Orchestra of Wales (Bloch), Gürzenich Orchestra (Bihlmaier) and Brussels Philharmonic (Ono).
