An Insider’s Look at Your Orchestra at Work
Assistant Conductor Akiko Fujimoto shares insider tips on what to watch for while attending a Minnesota Orchestra open rehearsal.

When attending a Minnesota Orchestra Open Rehearsal you get a behind-the-scenes look at how conductors and musicians shape and refine the spectacular music you hear in concert. Unlike a performance, the conductor may choose to rehearse a specific movement or a shorter passage that needs fine-tuning to perfect every element of the breathtaking music. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see your Orchestra at work. In the video below, Assistant Conductor Akiko Fujimoto shares insider tips on what to watch for while attending a Minnesota Orchestra open rehearsal.

The next Open Rehearsal is scheduled for April 24, 2019, at 10 am – and Minnesota Orchestra donors are invited to attend. At this rehearsal you will hear some of the music featured on the concert: Vänskä Conducts Beethoven and Sibelius.
