The Minnesota Orchestra Presents Symphony Ball 2025: Circus Symphonique!

The annual fundraising gala, held April 26, features a circus-themed performance with Music Director Thomas Søndergård and the Minnesota Orchestra plus auctions, dining and dancing

Chaired by Leni and David Moore, Jr., the 2025 Ball features performers from Circus Juventas and an after-party with Bluewater Kings Band

The Minnesota Orchestra will pull back the curtains on Circus Symphonique!, its 2025 Symphony Ball, on Saturday, April 26, at Orchestra Hall and the Hilton Minneapolis. Chaired by Leni and David Moore, Jr, the 2025 Ball—dubbed a “Three-Ring Celebration for the Minnesota Orchestra”—will spotlight Music Director Thomas Søndergård and the ensemble in colorful circus-themed music amidst an evening of contortionists, clowns and circus wonder. The Symphony Ball is the Orchestra’s largest annual fundraising event.

Tickets are available for the full evening, which includes a cocktail reception, seated dinner with a menu curated by consulting chef Jamie Malone and auctions beginning at 5 p.m. at the Hilton Minneapolis, located across Marquette Avenue from Orchestra Hall. Partier tickets ($99) are available to those who would like to arrive after the dinner hour when, at 9 p.m., the Minnesota Orchestra will take the stage at Orchestra Hall, followed by an after-party with live music, dancing and curated food and drink selections.

Led by Thomas Søndergård, the concert portion of the evening—available to all attendees, including those with a Partier ticket—will feature a bright mix of circus-inspired music, ranging from Stravinsky’s Circus Polka to Rossini’s William Tell Overture, and spotlight Associate Concertmaster Alan Snow, Principal Clarinet Gabriel Campos Zamora and Principal Trumpet Manny Laureano. Following the concert, an after-party extravaganza will include Circus Juventas performers, fortune tellers, cotton candy by Spinning Wylde and dancing to the Bluewater Kings Band.

“We sought a theme that could encompass all the excitement, fun and musical delight a Symphony Ball can offer—and circus just seemed to fit the bill,” said Leni Moore about the 2025 gala event. “David and I are grateful—and proud—to live in a place that supports one of the leading orchestras in the country, and Circus Symphonique! is a way for the community to come together to show that support and have a whole lot of fun.”

Since 1956, the annual Symphony Ball gala has raised millions of dollars in support of the Minnesota Orchestra, its musicians and education programs. This year’s event will continue to raise critical funds to support the artistic excellence and award-winning education and community engagement programs of the Orchestra.
