Music Educator
Side-by-Side Rehearsal
with Thomas Søndergård and the Minnesota Orchestra
We're looking for K-12 music educators who are interested in joining the Minnesota Orchestra for a unique Side-by-Side experience on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
The opportunity: you and your fellow music educators will work with Music Director Thomas Søndergård in a rehearsal at Orchestra Hall, where you’ll play alongside Minnesota Orchestra musicians in two movements from Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique. Together we’ll make music for an audience of your friends, family, students and school administrators, and we’ll celebrate you and the important mission of music educators across our state.

Who is eligible
K-12 music educators who play standard orchestral string, woodwind, brass or percussion instruments. Preference will go to educators in Minnesota schools. Please note that the number of participants is subject to physical space limitations and instrumentation needs.
Instrumentation: flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, trombones, tubas, timpani, percussion, harp and strings.

This program is free! If selected, you will send in a $25 deposit to hold your place. This will be returned to you at the first rehearsal. Each participant will receive tickets for family, friends, students and school administrators to attend the rehearsal.
