About This Concert:

The Minnesota Orchestra embarks on a three-city Minnesota Tour, visiting Willmar, Bemidji and Grand Rapids to offer concerts and educational activities.

The Minnesota Orchestra returns for its first performance in Grand Rapids since 2011, when it collaborated with a Grand Rapids-area community steering committee to create the Orchestra’s first-ever Common Chords residency week. Led by Associate Conductor Roderick Cox, the ensemble now returns to perform Brahms’ lively Academic Festival Overture, Mozart’s sublime Symphony No. 39 and Tchaikovsky’s powerful Symphony No. 4.

TCHAIKOVSKY
Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Opus 36

In addition to the public evening performance, the Orchestra will also perform a Symphonic Adventures program for students on Friday afternoon, May 19. (Open to student groups.)

Tickets: $30

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
