Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Movies

Giants of the Broadway stage and of Hollywood’s Silver Screen, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II together wrote 11 musicals over 17 years, and screen versions were filmed for eight of them. This program, Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Movies, is a celebration of their partnership with Hollywood; clips of their films will be shown on Orchestra Hall’s large screen while the Minnesota Orchestra performs some of the duo’s best-known musical selections. The concerts are produced by John Goberman, with music consultant John Waxman and music preparation by Larry Spivack. Original film clips are courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Movies is a production of PGM Productions, Inc. (New York) and appears by arrangement with IMG Artists
