Minnesota Orchestra "Inside the Classics" Season Closes with Dvořák's Seventh Symphony, July 15

Casual series at Orchestra Hall is led by conductor Sarah Hicks and hosted by Sam Bergman

July 15 concert explores Dvořák’s musical legacy, focusing on his Seventh Symphony

Inside the Classics, the Minnesota Orchestra’s casual series that explores great classical works through performances and enlightening conversation, concludes its eighth season on July 15, with a program titled Becoming Legend. On the first half of the program, Orchestra violist and host Sam Bergman and conductor Sarah Hicks will share stories about the life of Czech/Bohemian composer Antonín Dvořák, with the Orchestra performing excerpts from his music and from the music of Czech composers Leoš Janáček and Bedřich Smetana, among others. After intermission, the Orchestra will give a complete performance of Dvořák’s Seventh Symphony.

The concert is performed at the Orchestra’s home venue in downtown Minneapolis, Orchestra Hall, on Saturday, July 15, at 8 p.m., with single tickets priced at $30, $20 for patrons under the age of 40 and $12 for students with a valid ID. Tickets are available at minnesotaorchestra.org and by phone at 612-371-5656. For more details on purchasing tickets, refer to the information section at the conclusion of this press release.
