Minnesota Orchestra Performs Family Concert with The Okee Dokee Brothers, March 19

The Okee Dokee Brothers, an award-winning Minneapolis-based ensemble, perform with the Minnesota Orchestra in a concert of music for the entire family

The Okee Dokee Brothers, the Grammy Award-winning American children’s music duo, will perform a Family Concert at Orchestra Hall on Sunday, March 19, in collaboration with the Minnesota Orchestra. The four-time Parents’ Choice Award winners and Minneapolis-based duo first performed with the Orchestra in Young People’s Concerts in 2015. For this upcoming Family Concert, The Okee Dokee Brothers perform some of their favorite nature-inspired, family-friendly songs including Bullfrog Opera, Can You Canoe? and Jamboree. Making his conducting debut with the Minnesota Orchestra in this performance is Benjamin Klemme, a graduate of the University of Minnesota and currently the associate conductor of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra in Davenport, Iowa.

The performance is held at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis on Sunday, March 19, at
2 p.m.
, with tickets priced from $25 to $50 for adults; $20 to $50 for children ages 6 to 17; and $12 for children ages 5 and under. Tickets are available at minnesotaorchestra.org and by phone at 612-371-5656. For further purchasing details, refer to the information section at the conclusion of this press release.

The Okee Dokee Brothers
Before they became The Okee Dokee Brothers, childhood friends Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing grew up in Denver, Colorado, where they were always exploring the outdoors. Whether rafting down their neighborhood creek or discovering hiking trails through the Rocky Mountains, Mailander and Lansing were born adventurers. Now, as the Grammy Award-winning Okee Dokee Brothers, they have put this passion for the outdoors at the heart of their Americana Folk music. Based in Minneapolis, the Okee Dokee Brothers record and perform family music with a goal to inspire children and their parents to get outside and get creative. They believe this can motivate kids to gain a greater respect for the natural world, their communities and themselves. They have garnered praise from the likes of NPR’s All Things Considered and USA Today, and have been called “two of family music’s best songwriters.” More: okeedokee.org
