Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer performs full-length concert with the Minnesota Orchestra, March 4


Kristin Chenoweth, an Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer, makes her Minnesota Orchestra debut in a program that showcases her many talents as a singer, stage and screen star and comedian. The one-night-only performance on Saturday, March 4, is conducted by Kevin Stites, who has joined Chenoweth for many orchestral performances including the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Multi-talented composer, director and pianist Ben Toth joins Chenoweth and the Orchestra onstage at the piano.

The performance is held at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday, March 4, at 8 p.m., with tickets priced from $40 to $105. Kristin Chenoweth
Kristin Chenoweth has performed to sold-out audiences across the world, including performances at Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall. In 2015, she received a coveted star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, and earned a Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for her lead role in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s On the Twentieth Century. In 2009, she received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Pushing Daisies. In 1999, she won a Tony Award for You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and she was nominated for her original role of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked in 2004. She was also nominated for two Emmy Awards and a People’s Choice Award for her role on Glee. In 2017, Chenoweth will reunite with executive producer Bryan Fuller in his upcoming Starz series American Gods, in the role of Easter. She is also lending her voice to upcoming animated films such as Lionsgate/Hasbro’s My Little Pony: The Movie, set for a fall 2017 release, and The Star, which is set to be released in November 2017.

Chenoweth’s notable television roles include appearances in The West Wing, Disney’s Descendants and The Muppets. She voiced the role of Gabi in the hit animated film Rio 2 and Fifi in The Peanuts Movie, and starred in NBC’s December 2016 production of Hairspray Live! as Velma Von Tussle. Chenoweth recently released The Art of Elegance, her first album of American Songbook classics through Concord Records. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Current Jazz and Traditional Jazz charts, and #1 on Amazon’s Vocal Pop chart. She also returned to the stage in her limited engagement My Love Letter to Broadway, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, receiving rave reviews. Kevin Stites, conductor
Kevin Stites recently finished his third season as music supervisor/principal conductor at Radio City Music Hall for the Christmas Spectacular. He also served as music director for the Broadway revival of On the Twentieth Century. He recently conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall for an evening with Brian Stokes Mitchell and served as music director/conductor for Titanic In Concert, with members of the original Broadway cast and the New York City Chamber Orchestra at Avery Fisher Hall. He has served as the music director for the 25th Anniversary National Tour of Les Miserables as well as The Producers at the Hollywood Bowl, and conducted A Cole Porter Tribute at the Grant Park Music Festival. Ben Toth, piano
Ben Toth has worked as a musical director, composer, arranger, and pianist for an unprecedented list of Broadway stars—including Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Cheyenne Jackson and Mandy Patinkin—and has performed in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl to the Kennedy Center and London’s West End. Tony winners Kelli O’Hara and Steve Kazee, Grammy and Tony winner Duncan Sheik, and Tony nominees Jonathan Groff and Santino Fontana have performed and/or recorded his music. He recently finished collaborating with Welsh poet/playwright Owen Sheers on the chamber musical adaptation of Pink Mist and is also collaborating with Todd Almond on My Heart Is A Gun, a music theater piece about The Troubles.
