Minnesota Orchestra Presents Disney-Pixar's Ratatouille in Concert, Nov. 26 and 27

The Minnesota Orchestra continues its Stage and Screen concerts of the 2016-17 season with performances on November 26 and 27 of Disney-Pixar’s Ratatouille, the animated 2007 comedy film that follows the tale of Remy, an ambitious young rat who dreams of becoming a chef. Sarah Hicks, principal conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall, takes the podium to lead the Orchestra in performances of the Academy Award-nominated soundtrack by composer Michael Giacchino, as the complete film is shown on a large screen above the Orchestra.

The performances are held at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday, November 26, at 2 p.m., and Sunday, November 27, at 2 p.m., with tickets priced from $30 to $80. Michael Giacchino, composer
Michael Giacchino has fast become one of the best-known and most successful composers working in Hollywood today. His credits include some of the most popular and acclaimed film projects in recent history, including The Incredibles, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the three most recent Star Trek films. His 2009 score for the Pixar hit Up earned him an Oscar®, a Golden Globe, the BAFTA, the Broadcast Film Critics' Choice Award and two Grammy Awards. Most recently, his music can be heard in Disney’s Tomorrowland, Pixar’s Inside Out and Universal’s Jurassic World. In addition, he is scoring the next film in the Star Wars franchise, Rogue One. Giacchino also was the Musical Director of the 81st Annual Academy Awards and currently sits on the Advisory Board of Education Through Music Los Angeles.

Sarah Hicks, the Minnesota Orchestra’s principal conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall, has led a broad range of programs since joining the Orchestra as assistant conductor in 2006. During the 2016-17 season she will lead the Orchestra in concerts with Dessa, Boyz II Men, Ellis Hall, Hilary Kole and Tony DeSare, among other artists, as well as the Inside the Classics series and film music concerts of It’s a Wonderful Life and Star Trek. Away from Orchestra Hall, this season she makes return visits to the San Francisco Symphony, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and San Diego Symphony, and debuts with the Dallas Symphony, Nashville Symphony and Toronto Symphony. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Orchestra Hall Box Office, 1111 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis (open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and beginning two hours before all ticketed performances); and at the Minnesota Orchestra Administrative Office, International Centre, 5th floor, 920 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis (open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Published prices include a non-discountable facility fee of $5 per ticket. For single ticket purchases, there are no service charges for in-person transactions. (This charge is waived for subscribers and group purchasers ordering by phone, mail or in person.) Subscription packages are subject to a one-time $8 processing fee. No refunds.
