Get lost in the romance of a Viennese evening—as Sommerfest Artistic Director Andrew Litton starts this always-popular festival opener with the captivating overture to The Merry Wives of Windsor—plus plenty of joyful waltzes, including Strauss’ Emperor Waltzes, an elegant “toast of friendship” from Austria. Rounding out this delightful evening is the virtuoso pianist—and Orchestra favorite—Jon Kimura Parker, who plays Beethoven’s powerful Piano Concerto No. 3.
