An all-Russian program that blends beauty and muscle: this is the third and final week of the Orchestra's season opening tribute to Tchaikovsky. His Symphony No. 4 is the culminating work of this concert, which also spotlights his Romantic- and Soviet-era countrymen. Among its amazing features: the rip-roaring depiction of an Iron Foundry at full steam, and the still-as-glass serenity of The Enchanted Lake.
