he name Crosby brings to mind the families who helped build the
Twin Cities’ leading institutions, including the Minnesota Orchestral
Association. For more than 30 years, Tom Crosby was a devoted patron
and dedicated board member of the Minnesota Orchestra.
Tom, a community leader of extraordinary dedication and
generosity, served on the Orchestra’s Board of Directors
from 1969 to 2003; for 31 of those years he was a
member of the Executive Committee. He served as Chair
of the Building Committee for the 1974 construction of
Orchestra Hall and as Board Chair from 1998 to 2000.
The Minnesota Orchestra is honored to dedicate
the 2014 Guarantors’ Concert in memory of
Tom Crosby. We offer our deepest gratitude to
Tom’s dear friend, Mr. Lewis E. Lehrman, for
his generous sponsorship of this concert in
honor of Tom.
The annual Guarantors’ Concert is our way of expressing our deepest
gratitude to individual donors to the Minnesota Orchestra Guaranty Fund.
This concert is presented exclusively for you, our donors—to thank you for
your contributions. As Guaranty Fund Chair, it is my privilege to let you know
how much we value your generosity.
Individual donors’ support helps the Minnesota Orchestra bring extraordinary
music to audiences throughout the state, from our free concert at Lake Harriet
in September to the high school auditorium in Bemidji, Minnesota, the site of
our Common Chords residency this fall—and, of course, our inspiring
2014-15 season in the beautifully renovated Orchestra Hall. Donors’
support also makes it possible for more than 50,000 students to
experience transformational musical programs, while thousands
more are served by concerts in parks and other community venues.
This year, in our “New Beginnings” season, we begin again,
, to give our community the gift of music.
Thank you!
Lloyd Kepple
