Natasha Paremski
, piano
Russian-born Natasha Paremski,
now welcomed for her Minnesota
Orchestra debut, has earned acclaim
for her virtuosic performances with such
major orchestras as the Los Angeles
Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony,
Moscow Philharmonic and National
Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan. In
addition, she has given recitals at such
venues as London’s Wigmore Hall, the
Auditorium du Louvre in Paris and Teatro
Colón in Buenos Aires. This season she
appears with the Colorado Symphony,
St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble and Los
Angeles Chamber Orchestra, among
other groups, and tours the U.K. with the
Moscow Philharmonic. Her recording
of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff works
with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
was released last fall. In 2010 she was
named Young Artist of the Year by the
Classical Recording Foundation;
among her additional distinctions are
the 2006 Gilmore Young Artist prize
and the 2007 Prix Montblanc. More:

the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra
and assistant conductor of the New
York Philharmonic. During his four
years in Minnesota he has led more
than 160 concerts on many of the
Orchestra’s series, for audiences of
all ages. He has worked with other
orchestras and chamber ensembles
on three continents and directs
Boston’s Discovery ensemble, which
he founded. In 2011 he debuted with
the Los Angeles Philharmonic while
serving as a Dudamel Fellow. His
recent and upcoming engagements
include debuts with the Vancouver
Symphony, Lausanne Chamber
Orchestra, Edmonton Symphony,
Jacksonville Symphony, Kitchener-
Waterloo Symphony, as well as returns
to the Alabama Symphony and RTÉ
National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.
Before focusing on conducting he
studied music composition and clarinet

Michael McHale
, piano
Belfast-born Michael McHale, one of the
leading Irish pianists of his generation,
makes his Minnesota Orchestra debut
this Sommerfest. He appears often
as soloist with major British and Irish
orchestras, and this season he performs
with the Ulster Orchestra, Irish Chamber
Orchestra and RTÉ National Symphony.
As a recitalist or chamber musician,
he has performed in such prominent
venues as New York’s Lincoln Center,
Berlin’s Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall in
London and Suntory Hall in Tokyo, as
well as at music festivals from Argentina
to Tanglewood. He has also been heard
on TV and radio broadcasts worldwide.
Rachel York
, vocals
Rachel York is a versatile actress,
singer, dancer and comedienne. She
has drawn acclaim on Broadway for her
performances in

Misérables

—for which she
won a Drama Desk Award—
The Scarlet
Pimpernel

Sly Fox
and
Dirty Rotten
Scoundrels
. She has also starred in a
national tour of
Camelot

other theater credits. She debuted with
the Minnesota Orchestra during its
2009 Bernstein festival, and she has
also appeared with such orchestras as
the Los Angeles Philharmonic, National
Symphony, Philly Pops and Pittsburgh
Pops. York, who has performed her
cabaret show in major New York and
Los Angeles venues, starred as Lucille
Ball in the CBS television movie
Lucy
and has appeared in numerous
additional television programs and films.
