smo Vänskä's discography numbers over 50 highly acclaimed recordings found on the BIS and Hyperion labels. In Minnesota, Vänskä and the Orchestra have released the first album in a five-year project to record the complete Beethoven symphonies. That debut CD, featuring Symphonies No. 4 and 5, was issued in January 2005 to critical raves, with the London Financial Times referring to the disc as “the modern Beethoven recording par excellence.”

Vänskä’s ongoing cycle of Sibelius discs with the Lahti Symphony has garnered numerous awards, including a 1996 Gramophone Award and Cannes Classical Award. With the BBC Scottish Symphony, Vänskä has recorded music of Nielsen and contemporary Scottish composer James MacMillan. What follows is a limited discography.
