Common Chords: Hibbing

Our Savior's Lutheran Church

In the middle of a rain and lightning storm, singers from Our Savior's Lutheran Church dashed into the sanctuary for an evening rehearsal with some of the Orchestra's string and brass players. Choir Director Patti Stoddard brought the groups together to "emphasize quality music making in faith settings," she said in pre-concert remarks.

Fairview Range Regional Hospital

Our String Quartet took up residence in the patient waiting area at the Fairview Range Hospital on Wednesday afternoon. Violinist Michael Sutton—joined by Jonathan Magness, Ken Freed and Kristen Whitson—introduced the eclectic program, ranging from tangos to a Beethoven String Quartet.

"We are the Minnesota Orchestra," said Sutton. "Our mission is serving audiences across the state."
