Each year the Orchestra's principal cellist, Anthony Ross, takes the spotlight for a thrilling solo appearance. This season he performs Dvořák's Cello Concerto, one of the most hauntingly beautiful works ever written. To close, we present Harmonium, John Adams' brilliant creation for orchestra and chorus—rich with themes of love, longing and loss.

The Orchestra’s first-ever clarinet festival showcases these Grammy-winning klezmer superstars and renowned clarinetist Anat Cohen.

The extraordinary young British conductor Matthew Halls continues his two-week residency by leading our Orchestra, four stellar soloists and our own Minnesota Chorale in Messiah, an utterly magnificent and moving holiday gem. Thrill to the Hallelujah Chorus and the great arias that make this one of the grandest events of the year.

With just one CD released, the Minnesota Orchestra's recordings of Beethoven's piano concertos with pianist Yevgeny Sudbin are already generating editor's-choice awards. The Second is the most playful of the bunch, and Sudbin's own wit matches it perfectly. We're thrilled to invite you to a reunion—as Jorja Fleezanis returns to perform a spectacular solo with the Minnesota Orchestra! She communicates music's power, passion and beauty like few others, as we heard across the two decades in which she was our revered concertmaster. Central Lutheran Church provides a glorious acoustic for her violin and for Saint-Saëns' sweeping Organ Symphony, played by acclaimed organist Mark Sedio.
