First-timers' Guide
How long does a concert last?
Most performances are two hours including a twenty-minute intermission. Most Family and Young People's Concerts are one hour without intermission.
What should I wear?
Wear what is comfortable for you. Business casual, evening wear and everything in between is appropriate. Please be considerate of those who may have allergies or chemical sensitivities. It is recommended that you refrain from using strong perfumes and colognes so as not to distract the patrons sitting around you.

Important Young People's Concert Update!
Last updated February 29, 2012, 6:40AM
Peter and the Wolf Young Peoples Concerts (10AM & 11:35AM) will be performed as scheduled.
In most cases, if Minneapolis Public Schools declare a snow or emergency day OR the Minneapolis schools are beginning two hours late, Young People's Concerts will be canceled on the same day.
We understand that transportation to Orchestra Hall may vary due to weather conditions and school closures in your area—therefore, we have lifted our standard exchange policy. Should you be unable to attend any concert listed here, please contact us within 7 business days after scheduled concert date to discuss options.
Should weather conditions deteriorate and impact the concert schedule, updates will be posted here no later than 8am on the day of performance. See below for additional details.
Minnesota Orchestra Administrative staff and Orchestra personnel please report to Orchestra Hall as scheduled.
Performance cancelations will also be communicated publicly via Facebook, Twitter, WCCO Radio-AM, MPR Radio-FM, and local television stations.
If inclement weather prevents you from attending a Minnesota Orchestra performance, contact us as soon as possible prior to the event to make alternate arrangements.
Young People's Concert cancelations will be noted on our home page and on the concert detail page by 8am on the day of performance. In most cases, if Minneapolis Public Schools declare a snow or emergency day our Young People's Concerts will be canceled on the same day.
We will make our best effort to inform ticket holders affected by such closures or cancelations via phone and e-mail as soon as possible. For best service, we ask that patrons make sure the Minnesota Orchestra has a current e-mail address on file.
