First-timers' Guide

How long does a concert last?
Most performances are two hours including a twenty-minute intermission. Most Family and Young People's Concerts are one hour without intermission.

What should I wear?
Wear what is comfortable for you. Business casual, evening wear and everything in between is appropriate. Please be considerate of those who may have allergies or chemical sensitivities. It is recommended that you refrain from using strong perfumes and colognes so as not to distract the patrons sitting around you.

Inclement weather policy

If inclement weather prevents you from attending a Minnesota Orchestra performance, contact us as soon as possible prior to the event to make alternative arrangements, excluding a refund. Online exchanges are also available for your convenience.

Any performance cancelations will be noted on our home page and on the performance detail page at least three hours prior to a performance. It is only in the rarest of instances that the Minnesota Orchestra cancels a performance. In most cases, if Minneapolis Public Schools declare a snow or emergency day, our Young People's Concerts will be canceled on the same day.

Additionally, we will make our best effort to inform all ticketed patrons affected by such closures or cancelation via phone and e-mail as soon as possible. For best service, we ask that patrons make sure the Minnesota Orchestra has a current phone number and e-mail address on file. Performance cancelations will also be communicated publicly via Facebook, Twitter, WCCO Radio-AM, MPR Radio-FM, and local television stations.

Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC) - Level One

Most of our 2012-13 season performances will be held in the Auditorium, a gem of a hall on Level One of the Minneapolis Convention Center. Located just a few blocks from Orchestra Hall, it offers easy access to the same parking options and skyway already familiar to Orchestra Hall patrons. The Auditorium is comparable to Orchestra Hall in size and has beautiful amenities and warm acoustics. Its theater configuration is dynamic, changeable from one performance to the next, with visually engaging architecture.
