Women in Philanthropy

Making a Difference Today as Never Before

Thu Feb 23, 2012 9:15AM

Orchestra Hall (Get Directions)
1111 Nicollet Mall
Minneapolis, MN 55403

Description

Women have tremendous impact in effecting change both in society and within their own families. A 2011 study by the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University described it this way: “A convergence of social, demographic, cultural and economic factors has increased women’s visibility and involvement in philanthropy in recent years.” The study found that in 90 percent of households surveyed, women were either the sole decision-maker or joint partner in making a charitable gift.

Please join us for a special panel discussion to hear personal stories of philanthropy, insights on how to identify a well-run nonprofit, and strategies for making a positive impact, no matter the size of the gift.
