Here are riches from Russia: an abundance of Romantic music and two appearances not to be missed. First, the Minnesota Orchestra debut of Carlo Rizzi, an Italian conductor who's lighting up opera houses across Europe and at New York's Met. Second, the beauty of the seldom-heard Violin Concerto of Alexander Glazunov, in a solo appearance by Sarah Kwak.

Musician Top Pick

Timothy Zavadil: "Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet is one of the most colorful, exhilarating and tragic scores ever written. So if you're thinking about sneaking into your girlfriend's castle at midnight, stabbing someone in a fit of vengeful rage, getting secretly married, then capping it all off with a double suicide, this is the music you'll want on your iPod."

Informal and informative pre- and post-concert discussions with seating anywhere on the main floor. Concert tickets required.
