| Adams | My Father Knew Charles Ives |
The father of the great American composer John Adams didn’t really know Charles Ives. But Adams' musings on the similarities and influences of these two men inspired this hauntingly beautiful work, which evokes three places in Adams' native New England. The composer selected gorgeous musical elements, alternating and layering them to create a loving, impressionistic reminiscence.
A fun and fresh guide to understanding the music.
With lively discussion and shared musical insights, Sam and Sarah lead audiences through a fun and fresh exploration of the music during the first half of the concert, followed by a full performance of the featured work after intermission. Learn more about Inside the Classics »
