Description
These "percussionist kamikazes," as the New York Village Voice calls them, are the world's most popular and celebrated Japanese taiko drumming ensemble. Since Kodo's debut in 1981, the 25-person troupe has mesmerized audiences with its athletic drumming and choreography, stylized gestures, costumes and sheer pageantry—all while preserving and re-interpreting traditional Japanese performing arts. Be there when Kodo takes the stage and marches to the beat of its 900-pound drum!
