Sommerfest Artistic Director Andrew Litton takes the podium in this all-Tchaikovsky program that opens with the breathtaking Capriccio italien, inspired by a trip the composer took to Rome, recalling colorful Italian folk tunes. Then comes one of the most famous piano concertos ever written—Tchaikovsky's bold, emotion-filled First, performed with the superb Danny Driver in his Minnesota Orchestra debut—followed by Tchaikovsky's final work, the gorgeous Sixth (Pathétique) Symphony.
Ticket holders enjoy FREE live music and a delicious bite to eat on the beautiful outdoor terrace, adjacent to Ted Mann Concert Hall before each Sommerfest concert.
