Hansel and Gretel:
A Fairy Tale Thanksgiving

SUN NOV 29, 2009  12:30PM
Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Mall

Crescendo Project is partnering with WAMSO–Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association to bring the music of the Minnesota Orchestra to children. Be part of an engaging volunteer opportunity before the concert Hansel and Gretel: A Fairy Tale Thanksgiving.

Volunteers will join WAMSO and other Crescendo Project volunteers in the lobby of Orchestra Hall to host music Explorations Stations, Instrument Parts Department, String Sound Factory, Percussion Sound Factory and Listening Lounge to provide children the opportunity to learn more about specific instruments and music concepts.

Not an expert on instruments? Don't worry, we'll teach you what you need to know during a brief training session before the activities begin.

Then be our guest to Humperdinck's utterly delightful opera which is staged with great soloists, dancers and magical, eye-popping 18-foot puppets. All these tell the tale of a little boy and girl who wander lost into the woods, but emerge reunited with their rejoicing parents.

Day's Schedule:
Pre-concert activities (volunteer time) 12:30-2:30pm
Concert begins at 2:00pm (volunteers attending the performance will go in on time)
