  • Young Musicians of Minnesota
  • Aaron Hirsch, YMM Artistic Director
  • YMM's 2015 Summer Music Festival Students

TCHAIKOVSKY
Capriccio Italien, Op. 45

BARBER
Adagio for Strings

TCHAIKOVSKY
Symphony No. 6, "Pathetique"

Since May of 2013, YMM has worked with and inspired some of the most talented young musicians in Minnesota.

Modeled after many other youth orchestra programs in the state, YMM provides students with a college-level orchestral education, consisting of students ages 13-26. The YMM Summer Music Festival program is unique in that it is entirely student-led and operated, and allows its students to participate for a very small fee. Students receive the opportunity to perform alongside the Minnesota Orchestra Musicians in YMM's grand finale concert and work side-by-side with them in sectionals mid-July.

Through the leadership Minnesota's music students, YMM has established a reputation as one of the most unique youth orchestra programs in the nation. YMM students have access to a broad range of learning experiences that serve them for years to come. We provide tools for students to grow musically, socially, become leaders, and gain a greater appreciation for classical music.

Join the Young Musicians of Minnesota in the Orchestra Hall lobby from 1:30-2:45pm prior to their concert to hear a showcase of student chamber ensembles!

This program will be performed with a 20 minute intermission and will last approximately 2 hours.
