NightCap: American Voices for Brass

Join us for late night post-concert chamber music performed in the intimate setting of the Target Atrium offering audiences another way to connect with the music performed on the main stage. This performance features the music of Gershwin, Tilson Thomas, Bernstein and more.

The brass quintet, a uniquely American ensemble, typically gives us music that reflects our melting pot of cultures and traditions. A few lucky people were the first to hear Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and Bernstein's West Side Story; earlier this evening, a few more will have played an active role in creating the world premiere performance of Eric Whitacre's atmospheric Deep Field at Orchestra Hall. Extending that experience, this engaging NightCap concert will feature stellar brass players from the Minnesota Orchestra and the now-classic sounds of Gershwin and Bernstein, along with the stirring and cinematic voices of American composers Michael Tilson Thomas, James Stephenson and our own Charles Lazarus.

Seating is limited for this 1 hour event. Ticket price includes a complimentary beverage.
