Jeffrey Madison

Hailed for his dramatic diversity, baritone and stage director, Jeffrey Madison has performed and directed a varied repertoire from grand opera and operetta to musical comedy.  While maintaining a regular performance schedule, Mr. Madison has recently turned his attention to directing with recent projects as stage director for Big Top Chautauqua’s production of Steerage Song by Peter Rothstein and Dan Chouinard, productions of Trial by Jury, Iolanthe, and Ruddigore for the Duluth Underground Theater, and most recently the midwest premiere of Blue Viola by Peter Hilliard and Matt Boresi with Lyric Opera of the North. 

Mr. Madison has appeared at Carnegie Hall with the Minnesota Orchestra, performances in the roles of Faninal in Der Rosenkavalier and the Father in Hansel and Gretel, also with the Minnesota Orchestra, Father in Hansel and Gretel with the Colorado Symphony, Marcello in La Bohème with West Virginia Symphony, Germont in La Traviata with Western Plains Opera, Shaunard in La Bohème with Minnesota Opera, Silvio in I Pagliaci with Fargo-Moorhead Opera, Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Seattle Opera Young Artists, Albert in Werther with Chautauqua Opera, Figaro in The Barber of Seville with the Lyric Opera of the North, and Malatesta in Don Pasquale with Skylark Opera among others. 

Mr. Madison lives in Duluth, Minnesota with his wife, soprano, Vicki Fingalson.
