(December 20, 2011) Steeped in centuries-old tradition, the Golden Dragon Acrobats come to Minneapolis’ Orchestra Hall in a program guaranteed to dazzle audiences with spectacular feats of daring that defy the laws of physics, encompassing spinning, juggling, climbing, balancing, jumping and twisting in unfathomable combinations.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats have delighted audiences throughout the world with captivating performances that feature Chinese acrobatics, traditional dance, brilliant costumes, theatrical techniques, and ancient and contemporary music. Through more than three decades of continuous touring, the company has performed in all 50 U.S. states and more than 65 countries on five continents, presenting more than 200 performances each year.
Among the highlights of the Acrobats’ history are its Broadway debut in 2005, which earned the company two Drama Desk Award nominations; a six-week engagement at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C.; and being honored seven times with the National Association of Campus Activities Entertainer of the Year Award. The company, which participates extensively in community and youth outreach programs, is led by impresario Danny Chang and choreographer Angela Chang.
