Public Support

The Minnesota Orchestra receives significant funding from the State of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Minnesota arts and cultural heritage fund with money from the vote of the people on November 4, 2008, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Minnesota Orchestra is grateful to the people of Minnesota for their support. Through Legacy amendment funds granted by the Minnesota State Arts Board, the Minnesota Orchestra is able to:
- Reach more than 50,000 students through Young People's Concerts at Orchestra Hall
- Give free summer community concerts that reach more than 36,000
- Provide free busing and tickets to Orchestra Hall for 5,000 Minneapolis and Saint Paul students
- Initiate new Common Chords partnerships with Greater Minnesota communities
Additionally, the Minnesota Orchestra receives artistic and education project grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
